In 2004, Hardin was the Rookie of the Year in the King Taco Super Trucks Series at the speedway. Hardin, driver of the #18 Direct Shopping Network/ Hardin Buick Pontiac GMC Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, is looking for a strong finish after recording the team's first top ten finish of the season at Stockton 99.

"We're looking forward to racing at Irwindale Speedway. I consider this my home track," said Hardin. He resides in nearby Anaheim, California. "We had some challenges this season but we're heading in the right direction. Our crew chief, Ron Hearidge and the BMR team have really been working hard to make us competitive and I think it will show this weekend."

Hardin and the #18 team are currently running in the top 20 in the chase for the NGND, AZ West Series championship. They gained four positions after the last race and are only 58 points out of the top ten.
